I'm an embedded fractional CFO for small-to-mid-market and growth-stage companies — board-ready and IPO-tested. I run the full finance function and add specialized depth where the economics get technical: SaaS & subscription economics, product & gross-margin finance, and supply chain — all held to board-, investor-, and lender-grade standards.
Everything I build runs on repeatable, AI-driven workflows — board decks, cost models, and lender/investor packages that stay precise and auditable as you scale, not one-off spreadsheets rebuilt every cycle.
As your fractional CFO, I own the forecast, the cash, and the numbers behind the decisions — a complete finance function for a small or mid-market company. On top of that, I bring real depth in the areas that make or break the model: SaaS and subscription economics, product and gross-margin finance, and supply chain — all reported to board, investor, and lender standards.
Embedded finance leadership for companies that need CFO-level thinking before they can justify a full-time hire. I run the complete finance function — planning and close, cash and forecasting, go-to-market and sales finance, board reporting and fundraising support — and bring the specialized practice areas below to bear wherever they create the most value. For a small or mid-market company, it's a full finance function in a single engagement.
Engage the full CFO role, or bring me in for a single practice area — each mapped to how your business makes and spends money.
The subscription metrics your board and investors track — and the compute costs underneath them — modeled cleanly and reported the same way every month.
The economics of what you build — R&D investment, product-level P&L, and the levers that move gross margin. The cost side few CFOs ever model at the unit level.
Finance for companies whose cost structure runs through physical goods, inventory, and logistics — the real supply chain, from standard cost to the loading dock.
Not a separate service — the reporting layer under everything above. Whatever the practice area, the output is built to satisfy the people who scrutinize your numbers: your board, your investors, your lenders, your PE sponsors, and your auditors. I've reported across the full ownership lifecycle — public company, PE-owned, and back to public again.
Few fractional CFOs have modeled a GPU cluster's unit economics, costed 10 million SKUs, or rebuilt a SaaS retention model — and the specialists who have rarely also run a board meeting or prepped an S-1. I've done both — at Palo Alto Networks I built the AI-compute cost models and served as Interim CFO of a 600-person division. Whether you're a SaaS, product, or physical-goods company, that combination is hard to find in one person.
A company at Series B usually doesn't need a full-time CFO yet — but it absolutely needs CFO-level thinking. What separates the businesses that scale cleanly from the ones that hit financial walls is usually this: someone in the room who's done it before.
I'm a fractional CFO who has run the finance function for divisions and companies through two IPOs (ThredUp, Leapfrog) and a $1B+ capital line of business at Dolby Laboratories. For a small or mid-market company, I'm a complete finance function. And on top of the standard CFO toolkit — planning, cash, close, go-to-market and sales finance — I bring depth in the areas that quietly decide margins and growth: SaaS & subscription economics, including the compute and cloud costs underneath them; product finance — R&D, product P&L, and gross-margin management; and supply chain & operations — the costing, inventory, and logistics layer beneath the P&L. Every engagement is reported to board, investor, and lender standards.
A thread runs through all of it: I build the workflow, not just the deliverable — repeatable and auditable, not a one-off spreadsheet that only works once. At Palo Alto Networks I drove a ~20% reduction in MDR and MTH managed-services compute spend by reconciling open tenants against customer-paid contracts and permitted usage — through business-partner interviews and deep Tableau analysis — and recovered $1.7M in supply-chain balance-sheet cash in 90 days through found inventory, return-to-vendor recovery, and unconverted Try & Buy. I'm completing an MBA in AI Product Management alongside this work, bringing modern tooling to finance processes that used to be manual and one-off.
Across a 30+ year career — including 15 years in senior finance and operations roles at Poly (formerly Plantronics), where I was a President's Award recipient among 3,500+ employees — I've learned that the businesses that scale best are the ones whose finance leader actually understands what's being built, not just what it costs.
Working with me means a partner who's been through IPOs, capital deployment at scale, and hands-on product, compute, and supply-chain cost builds — not a consultant who's only read about them.
